About Susana
My name is Susana Otalora
I'm the owner and creator of Susana's Desserts House. I'm 30 years old, married, mom of a 3-year-old girl. I was born in Colombia but have lived in Texas for half my life. After graduating from Texas State University, I had the privilege to work as an elementary bilingual teacher for 4 years. After that, my daughter born and I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. During my 1st year as a new mom, my life changed completely. My dream job was not a priority anymore, I lost my mom during the pandemic, but a new journey began.
From My House to your House
Susana's Desserts House story began after her mom passed away as a way to heal and find a purpose while being a stay-at-home mom. Susana grew up in a sweet-lovers household, very much to credit to her mom for her love for fine pastry and being very picky when choosing a cake for celebrations. Her mom had an impact on Susana chasing her dreams. She believed that life was too short not to do something you love.
One of her mother's dreams was to open a bakery, knowing she could be a good baker. The creativity and good palate are qualities Susana retains from her mother. Unfortunately, her dream couldn't come true.
One day, Susana felt something or someone was pushing her through this new journey she had never planned. Susana is sure her mom wanted her to do this to make their dreams come true.

For the past year, her passion grew into a business dedicated to providing the best bundt cakes in Kyle, Texas. She takes pride in her cakes and the joy they bring to her customers. Susana puts her heart and soul into every cake she makes, ensuring her customers can notice good homemade flavors and creativity in her work. She believes that a great bundt cake is not just about flavors but the experience those flavors create.
